Best Games for Kids!

This Sonic game is literally for children of all ages. Anyone able to master movements with the Wii wand and busy themselves on the balance board will have hours of fun. With this, Sega is giving greater relevance to Sonic in kids’ games than they’ve achieved in a long time.

This combines Sonic with Mario and friends at the Olympics and a game for kids in which Mario defies low gravity environments in space. The player controls of the Galaxy game are much easier than the Olympics. For a new Sonic choice for your child this is not the game.

These two team up with their friends to compete in real Olympic competitions and additional made up events. Some kids have difficulty with the stiffness of the game controls. The good news is Sega has improved with its sequel game for kids: Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games.

This compilation of 40 games is a great retro-collection for diehard fans. Nevertheless, I can’t imagine that if your kids are 9-10 they’ll have much patience for it. The 6-8 year olds should like this; but if your kids play new games this may seem like a set of fossils.

There are a dozen classic Sonic characters kids can choose for play. Each player controls a team. The camera isn’t responsive and the varied teams are not that different in what they can do. This Sonic game will not hold the attention of 9 or 10 year old children.

This Sonic sequel definitely improves play on Sonic Advance 2 and Sonic Advance. Kids encounter graphics and effects far above the predecessor games This game is rated for everyone however, under 7 year olds may get frustrated with the control. It is perfect fun for 7 to 8 year olds.

This was released after Sonic Advance was surpassed by Advance 2 and Advance 3. This package deal with the Pinball Party as a two-in-one Sonic set likely aimed at keeping the Sonic Advance game marketable. This Set is not a choice game for kids over 8 or 9 years old.

In this game, kids can play as Sonic or 8 other characters. Despite being a battle game, which Sonic usually is not the best at, play is fast paced. The controls are fairly simple. You may not want this game for kids under 8 years old since it’s about fighting.

With this game, kids come to play the original Sonic on a different system from the Genesis of 1991. This 15th Anniversary release doesn’t keep the attention of older children as it did originally. The speedy adventure is most apt for 6-8 year old kids getting their first games.

This kids’ game focuses on an airboard race. The positive thing is that it’s about speed, which is what kids have always loved with Sonic play. However, the game controls are difficult to get used to. While rated for everyone, children under 8 may get frustrated with the controls.

While Chronicles is a fighting game, players may feel Sonic is too slow in the game. Some of the fighting will also feel repetitive and a notch or two down from other fighting games your kids probably own. Sonic’s battles and story line are simplistic for older kids.

In this game your kids and Sonic team up with a cross-dimensional crime fighter. The game puts players in a 2-D environment with a 3-D Sonic. In many ways, this game goes back to basics for the Sonic style young players always loved. It’s optimal for 6-8 year olds.

This 4-player kids’ game uses the nunchuk control to manipulate Sonic in this adventure. The sword-wielding Sonic swings into battle amidst awesome graphics kids enjoy. If you don’t mind letting your children sword fight then they can go wild against the Black Knight although this is not Sonic’s specialty.

This game takes Sonic, the kids’ critter, and converts him into “werehog.” This rampaging Sonic won’t scare younger kids but it does transform the loveable animal into an evil, fighting twin for roughly half of the levels. It is also not really that exciting for older siblings.

As far as games with Sonic go fun with speed’s the strength. Kids get it here. Older children may not care for the questionable plot and disastrous dialogue - sad signatures of Sonic’s games. If your kids range from 6-8 years of age they probably will like playing this game.

This 2010 release features Sonic and many friends. Each racing character in the game has super powers to give players an edge on the track turns and straight-a-ways. Partial previews of this go-kart game indicate it will leave kids loving play on the 15 race tracks with Sonic and friends.
